Celebrities often set the trends for the hottest new shoes, clothes and upcoming designers. Entire magazines and TV shows are dedicated to their fresh and fashionable new looks. While most celebrities keep up on the latest fashion trends, only a few can be considered hair style trend setters. These celebrities are always sporting the newest looks; on the red carpet, at movie premiers, or even on a Saturday stroll around Rodeo Drive. Here are just a few of our favorite hair style icons from the past few years:
Rihanna – If there's one thing Rihanna isn't afraid of, it's being a style icon. Rihanna started her career as a young singer in 2005 and we publicly watched her grow into a musician and style icon. Rihanna started her career like most pop princesses, with long, flowing locks and a girl next door look. Over the past few years, however, her look has evolved, and she continues to reinvent herself as she grows as a musician. Rihanna has sported hairstyles ranging from long, retro burnt oranges to a bleach blonde bob, with nearly every style in-between. These hair styles seem to accommodate her grunge-chic style and work well for both daily life as well as the red carpet. Admittedly, Rihanna had a few hair style missteps in the past seven years, but we admire her courage in always taking risks. We're always excited to see what she does next!
Lauren Conrad – Lauren Conrad may have made her break into Hollywood through the young, drama-filled reality show, Laguna Beach, but this young starlet has always had a passion for setting trends. Conrad launched her first clothing line in 2008 and has been a style icon ever since. What we love about Lauren is that she knows exactly what her style is; a bit of old Hollywood style mixed with a girly, beach vibe. You can usually catch her wearing vintage up dos, boho chic waves and classic slick backed poines.
Taylor Swift – This young singer, songwriter and actress has always been admired by both young and older audiences for her classic hair style choices. Swift hit it big while finishing up high school and was even the youngest songwriter ever hired by her publishing house. Despite Swift's younger following, she manages to keep her style very natural and mature, wearing tight curls or flowing waves. Swift doesn't let her style get boring, as she's constantly adding in side ponytails, updos and delicate braids to her Goldilocks-like mane.
